Nothing is ever the same

I found an old well cared for copy of a Diane Arbus book this morning buying my tea at the bookshop near my apt.  It was published just after she took her own life. 
I like the opening quote.
'Nothing is ever the same as they said it was. It's what I've never seen that I recognize' 
I think you can apply that to life in general.
